Financial 51 is a non-profit organization created to promote financial literacy for professional athletes and the youth. In today's world, it's important for athletes to understand the difference between a big pay check and financial wealth. It is also very important to educate the youth, who are the leaders of tomorrow, with the importance of understanding and managing credit. It is our mission to assist others in building a solid financial foundation and giving them the power to make sound financial decisions.

Welcome to Financial 51!

Jonathan Vilma has been a tremendous leader on and off the field. Now Vilma aspires to bring his leadership to cultivate Financial 51 into a flagship charity and conference for athletes and the youths. United Nations Headquarters
3 United Nations Plaza
New York, NY 10017

United Nations WHAT: (New York, NY) NFL star Jonathan Vilma of the New Orleans Saints will visit with world leaders, dignitaries and humanitarians at the United Nations Headquarters in an effort to push for the funding of hurricane proof housing in his native Haiti. Vilma and two former NFL players, Freeman McNeil and Adam Dispirito, will team up for this cause of helping to ease the fears of people in hurricane affected areas so that they have a safer home when a natural disaster hits.

WHO: NFL Linebacker Jonathan Vilma has dreams of taking his efforts abroad to help the country of his family's roots, Haiti. The Coral Gables, Fla. native has seen the terrible wrath that hurricanes cause and is doing his part to help friends, family and the community abroad. He appeared in a United Way television commercial right after Hurricane Katrina, which depicted the severe damage caused in his football team’s home city. From this experience, Vilma became an advocate for more affordable hurricane proof housing for the people of New Orleans as well as Haiti.

He is pushing to inform others about the cost effective, readily available, hurricane proof materials created by companies that have been around for years. Many are unaware that the world’s strongest cost effective hurricane proof homes can someday soon be built with such materials as recycled glass and newspapers.

In addition, the University of Miami graduate is putting his Finance degree to good use off the field with his Financial 51 organization. Vilma is using his leadership to cultivate this organization into a flagship charity and conference for athletes and the youth.
